Proactive Comprehensive Safety Program
We have created a comprehensive set of gymnastics safety program concepts.
We are not aware of any gym in the country that has implemented all of
our safety suggestions, since a number of them are available here for the
first time ever.
Evaluate and Implement
We suggest that every gym and program evaluate their program in terms
of these safety concepts and implement as many of them as possible.
Safety-Certified is Only a Minimum
The minimum for gymnastics safety education is being safety-certified
by USA Gymnastics. This is required for gymnastics coaches coaching
on the floor at any sanctioned gymnastic competition and recommended for
all gymnastics instructors. Many gymnastics programs require all
their staff to be safety certified.
Safety Concepts
The above and following safety concepts need to be considered, evaluated
in terms of your gym and programs and implemented as needed and as possible.
